Direct answerWhat this service delivers

A guarding retrofit improves an existing machine without necessarily replacing the complete asset. The work may add fixed guards, controlled access, safety devices, improved emergency stops, safer maintenance access or updated safety-control architecture.

Scope

What the service can include

The exact boundary is agreed before work starts and coordinated with your production, engineering and safety teams.

  • 01Missing or damaged guards
  • 02Production changes that created new access
  • 03Unreliable or obsolete interlocks
  • 04New product openings
  • 05Changed operator or maintenance tasks
  • 06Safety-control modernisation

Delivery

A controlled engineering process.

01

Assess

Review actual use, current defects, foreseeable misuse and the machine control condition.

02

Prioritise

Identify the changes that deliver meaningful risk reduction and reliable operation.

03

Engineer

Design mechanical and electrical modifications as one integrated package.

04

Implement

Install, test and document the upgrade with controlled changes to the machine.

Outputs

What you receive

Outputs are proportionate to the service and defined in the proposal.

Discuss this service
  • Condition and gap review
  • Prioritised upgrade scope
  • Mechanical guarding modifications
  • Safety-device and control updates
  • Functional testing
  • Updated drawings and records where included

Service questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a retrofit make any old machine compliant?

A retrofit can significantly improve safety, but the achievable outcome depends on the machine design, condition, controls and intended use. The project scope should state what is being assessed and modified.

Will you replace obsolete safety switches?

Yes. Replacement may require mechanical redesign, wiring changes and validation rather than a like-for-like swap.

Can upgrades be phased?

Yes. A risk-prioritised plan can separate immediate actions from planned shutdown work and longer-term improvements.
