Survey to handover

A controlled route from hazard to handover.

Each stage produces the evidence and decisions required for the next—reducing late changes and keeping mechanical guarding, access and safety controls aligned.

Project governance

Define scope, interfaces and evidence before site installation.

A guarding project crosses mechanical design, machine operation, electrical controls, production planning and safety management.

We use a staged process so responsibilities, assumptions and deliverables can be agreed explicitly rather than discovered during commissioning.

01

Project stage

Site survey and task review

Record the machine, hazards, access routes, stopping behaviour, people, process and physical constraints.

Project interfaces

Clear responsibilities create better outcomes.

Successful delivery depends on timely access to the machine, competent customer contacts and accurate information about existing controls and production requirements.

How do you prepare for a machine-guarding survey?

Gather the machine layout, operating tasks and details of existing safeguards and modifications. Identify where operators, cleaners and maintenance staff need access. These facts help a competent reviewer assess the application and define practical next steps; photographs alone may not establish all the conditions that affect the design.
